You should DEFINITELY buy a Ikon pass if you intend on going to multiple trips. The base Ikon pass covers all the mountains we will go to as a club. If you go to one Mammoth trip, or 4-5 day trips, it pays for itself .
Usually, our meetings are every Friday at lunch in room 302 at LAHS. Before the season, meetings are not every week so make sure to follow us on Instagram and Remind for updates.
We try to get 1-2 trips in every month during the season. Due to different holidays and breaks, this number varies widely.
YES! The club is open to all levels no matter how "bad" you think you are. There are many kind members that will help you down your first slopes and nobody will judge you. We have already had multiple first timers learn to snowboard in only the first semester.
The current president of the club is Reef Settlemire. There is also Vice President Maddie Heenan, and Kodi Hubbert who help with administration and functions.
For normal one day events, the club and transportation fee is $40. This doesn't include the ticket or rental, but rentals are very low priced at Green Room due to our partnership with them. For longer trips, the price varies, but is significantly higher due to accommodation and food costs. Either way, it will be less expensive than going on your own and definitely more fun!
As of now, there are still no other chapters, but if you are a student in another high school around Orange County, please reach out to us on instagram or via the "New Chapters" section of the website.

Our return policy for the day trips is that there are NO REFUNDS UNLESS TOTAL TRIP CANCELLATION. There are very small margins when it comes to the trip fee so we can't afford to refund someone after we have already prepared their spot. Furthermore, any sign ups past the deadline are subject to a $10 late fee.
The cost of lift tickets always vary between $100-$130 depending on the day. We have a partnership with Green Room in fountain valley which provides rentals for the low price of $10. If you need any financial assistance with lift tickets, send us a message on instagram and we will work with you to get you on the mountain.
Since it is a day trip, we will be back before 10pm on the same evening, so there will not be any lodging.
Snow Summit is a popular ski resort located in Big Bear, California. Nestled in the San Bernardino MoMammoth Lakes, California, is a premier ski destination known for its exceptional winter sports offerings. Home to Mammoth Mountain, one of the largest ski resorts in the United States, it boasts over 3,500 acres of skiable terrain and an average of 400 inches of snowfall annually. Skiers and snowboarders of all levels can enjoy a variety of slopes, from gentle beginner runs to challenging expert trails. It is only a 5 hour drive from Los Alamitos.
By taking a Mammoth trip with the Los Alamitos Snow Sports Club, you pay a total price, including lodging, transportation, groceries, restaurant food, and more. The price you pay is the lowest price we can offer. The more people who go on the trip, the less you pay. The total fee for this trip not including lift tickets and rentals will depend on the number of attendees, but it will range from $300-500.
Our return policy allows for a full refund up until we pay for the lodging. If you were to inquire for a refund after this deadline, it would raise the price of everyone else’s fee, leading to a more hectic trip plan.
At this moment, lift tickets are at an all time low. You can save up to 70% on your ticket if you order before Sept. 25. You can purchase your lift tickets on the Mammoth Website. Make sure to buy your lift tickets BEFORE we drive up.

The last mammoth trip, we stayed at a cabin that had a loft that had enough beds to sleep every person on the trip. Students sleep in one section of the cabin and parents/volunteers sleep in a separate section. EACH STUDENT DOES NOT HAVE THEIR OWN ROOM/BATHROOM. The purpose of the cabin is a place to sleep and eat. We spend most of our time in Mammoth on the mountain itself. Most of the time* There is a hot tub where you can relax after a day on the mountain.
You are responsible for paying for food on the mountain, but everything else including Breakfast and dinner will be provided and are included in the cost.
