THIS SUNDAY, APRIL 21 AT SNOW SUMMIT
SIGN UPS ARE DUE THIS THURSDAY AND MEETING IS THIS FRIDAY ROOM 706
Our main goal as a club is to be able to include everyone, no matter their level or financial background. We know that snow sports can be a very costly endeavor, which is why we have partnered up with Big Bear Mountain Resorts and Green room to make our financial aid program in which the most significant costs, lift tickets and rentals will be almost entirely paid for. This means that you can enjoy an entire day in the mountain for less than $40 total! If this is something that you would be interested in, please message us on instagram at @losalsnow . This is completely confidential, so nobody will know if you need financial aid or not. See you on the slopes!
GENERAL DAY TRIP Q&A
Where and what is Snow Summit?
Answer: Snow Summit is a popular ski resort located in Big Bear, California. Nestled in the San Bernardino Mountains, Snow Summit offers a range of winter sports activities, including skiing and snowboarding. With a variety of slopes catering to different skill levels, from beginners to advanced enthusiasts, the resort provides an ideal destination for winter recreation. Big Bear is renowned for its picturesque landscapes and receives ample snowfall, making Snow Summit a premier location for those seeking a snowy and thrilling outdoor experience. The resort is approximately a 2 hour drive from Los Alamitos, making it accessible for Southern California residents looking for a winter getaway.
What are you paying for?
Answer: By taking a trip with the Snow Sports Club, you are paying for transportation to the mountain as well as misc fees which include any gear or snacks we buy for the trip. The day trip fee is $40. This does not include rentals or the lift ticket.
What is our return policy?
Answer: Our return policy for the day trips is that there are NO REFUNDS no matter what. There are very small margins when it comes to the trip fee so we can't afford to refund someone after we have already prepared their spot. Furthermore, any sign ups past the deadline are subject to a $10 late fee.
Question: How much do lift tickets and rentals?
Answer: The cost of lift tickets always vary between $100-$130 depending on the day. We have a partnership with Green Room in fountain valley which provides rentals for the low price of $10. If you need any financial assistance with lift tickets, send us a message on instagram and we will work with you to get you on the mountain.
Question: What is the sleeping and lodging situation like:
Answer: Since it is a day trip, we will be back before 10pm on the same evening, so there will not be any lodging.
Question: Who buys food?
Answer: You are responsible for paying for food on the mountain.
Feel free to reach out through our instagram if you have any further questions. Thank you.
GENERAL MAMMOTH TRIP Q&A
Where and what is Mammoth?
Answer: Mammoth Lakes, California, is a premier ski destination known for its exceptional winter sports offerings. Home to Mammoth Mountain, one of the largest ski resorts in the United States, it boasts over 3,500 acres of skiable terrain and an average of 400 inches of snowfall annually. Skiers and snowboarders of all levels can enjoy a variety of slopes, from gentle beginner runs to challenging expert trails. It is only a 5 hour drive from Los Alamitos.
What are you paying for?
Answer: By taking a Mammoth trip with the Los Alamitos Snow Sports Club, you pay a total price, including lodging, transportation, groceries, restaurant food, and more. The price you pay is the lowest price we can offer. The more people who go on the trip, the less you pay. The total fee for this trip not including lift tickets and rentals will depend on the number of attendees, but it will range from $300-500.
What is our return policy?
Answer: Our return policy allows for a full refund up until we pay for the lodging. If you were to inquire for a refund after this deadline, it would raise the price of everyone else’s fee, leading to a more hectic trip plan.
Question: How much do lift tickets cost?
Answer: At this moment, lift tickets are at an all time low. You can save up to 70% on your ticket if you order before Sept. 25. You can purchase your lift tickets on the Mammoth Website. Make sure to buy your lift tickets BEFORE we drive up.
Question: What is the sleeping and lodging situation like:
Answer: The last mammoth trip, we stayed at a cabin that had a loft that had enough beds to sleep every person on the trip. Students sleep in one section of the cabin and parents/volunteers sleep in a separate section. EACH STUDENT DOES NOT HAVE THEIR OWN ROOM/BATHROOM. The purpose of the cabin is a place to sleep and eat. We spend most of our time in Mammoth on the mountain itself. Most of the time* There is a hot tub where you can relax after a day on the mountain.
Question: Who buys food?
Answer: You are responsible for paying for food on the mountain, but everything else including Breakfast and dinner will be provided and are included in the cost.
Feel free to reach out through our instagram if you have any further questions. Thank you.
